I finally did it! ..order placed for Titanium Silver 530D, can't wait to join the E60 club and move from forum lurker to driver status :D

In the meantime...does anyone know if it's possible to get an extra magazine (cd holder) for the CD Changer in the glove box, is there a part number I can order?

MTRHEAD:
Welcome to the forum, congrats on your new car. Have the dealer give you an extra magazine. Just ask, they will do it. You will love the Logic 7 sound system, money well spent. Once again, welcome.

I agree. Once you've got the L7 setup as you want it, you will be astonished at the clarity.

welcome to the forum MTHREAD.....give your nearest dealers parts dept a quick call and they should be able to quickly lookup/order extra cd magazines.

Aren't they the normal CD6 pack cartridge that are used in all other CD 6 Changers? Instead of going through BMW couldn't you just go to Radio Shack, Circut City, Virgin or even WallMart? :)

I've got a second magazine for mine. I told my dealer pre-delivery I want one and when I took delivery of the car it was in there.

You should know by now that there's nothing standard about BMW! j/k

Next time someone visits one of the retailers, maybe a comparison can be made so we don't have to pay $50 for a $7 part.

I'm learning Jimbo! :) The 6pack in my wifes MB SL is a standard size. I bought an extra one at Aldi for 2 Euro! So far (for the past year) it has worked just fine. I guess time and money will tell the tale later

thanks everyone for the information and the positive opinions on the Logic 7. Since I never managed to even listen to a logic 7 system in a demo car this is good to hear!

I did check the demo E60 CD changer against my E39 CD changer and unless I'm mistaken it doesn't look the same.

It's definitely different from the E39 trunk mounted changer cartridge. I have some of those if anyone's in the market.

I'm sure it's available aftermarket - like recommended. I found the ones for E39 at Cicuit City, as generic replacements for the Alpine. I'm sure you can get these, too.
