[/quote]I know this sounds redneck/hillbilly, but I simply placed a buutter knife in a thin cloth kitchen towel and gently placed it up under the body-color insert (OUTSIDE EDGE), Rocked it gently and it popped right out. Popped red back in .....incredibly easy!

Are the red reflectors legal in the US?
Yes,
Following quote from NHSTA.
REQUIRED
"Rear Reflex Reflectors (A) Indicate vehicle's presence and width Minimum 2 Red On the rear - symmetrical - as far apart as practicable- facing rearward 380-1530 mm (15-60 in)"
The 6er comes to US with Red Reflectors. I just do not understand BMW and this 5 series red reflector issue. Seems to me to have other than "RED" reflector is the illegal side of things.
