Default Euro Horn

I rarely, if ever use my horn. However, once when trying to scare a groundhog out of the road I noticed that my horn sounded... American. I vaguely remember my dad's old E39 having a very European sounding horn, the sound it produced was a slightly different pitch than american cars, perhaps slightly flat. Either way, I was wondering if the Euro spec E60's have a "european" horn, or does it sound the same as the North American E60?

Lastly, is it possible to get a european sounding horn? Perhaps an old stock e39 horn?

I've got a Euro spec 2004 E60 525i (same as yours), and I'll take a video of my horn tomorrow morning (I'm in Australia)

Now that you mention it, could you be so kind as to take a (high quality) video of the US Spec E60 Horn? I very much like the sound of a beefier horn!

Thanks

This I never thought about, as every time I honk the horn, the attention is notice, so unless it sounds like a sissy car(vw bug???), then I'll be worry to change it out. Otherwise, that's not even a thing to worry about.

Hey mate.

Apologies for the delayed response.

Here's a quick video of my Euro Spec E60 Horn.

Are you able to take one of your US Spec E60?
