Saw that vid on the other thread but not sure why it's on this one.

Can we stick to the subject?

Joe, any performance and price data on the SC? Or hopefully Roman will see this thread and chime in.

Just curious why the engine cover looks like it was cut off. Is this still a work in progress?

And JR, I'm sure ESS has/will thoroughly test this kit to ensure reliability based on the stock internals and drive train so you shouldn't be worried about having your motor beefed up. IIRC, ESS's kit is only pushing a relatively safe 6PSI.

Man o Man this would be insane to have. Last time I did research on a S.C. for my car it was roughly like 8k before labor. How do I justify that to the lady? LOL

I felt like a honda civic trying to keep up with all the ///M's during ECfest.

I've been talking to Asbjorn over at ESS... these are the prices:
1) TVS1: USD $7,495 with install time of 8hrs @ 430hp
2) TVS2: USD $8,995 with install time of 10-12hrs (Stage 2 is a more complex S/C) @ 465hp

I'm getting the Stage 1... I don't really need to go stage 2 and as long as I can keep up with the e9x M3's I'm happy. Plus, I have my RPI exhaust so that should help as well. I'm getting the final labor quotes tomorrow and then I'll be ordering the S/C. I'll post pics when it's all done.

I also asked about potential error codes... ESS said that this S/C (and it's accompanying ECU software) was made specifically to integrate into our car's current system. I hope this is true in the long term and no problems arise. Even so, they said there is 2 year warranty on this.

Just an FYI, you will also need to order their Direct Flash kit for the ECU (if ESS doesn't do the flash for you) so your car will work properly with the S/C. I was informed this costs an extra $495.00. All in all, it will cost slightly more than $9k for the T&M.

I hope this helps and this will be my last major mod as I'm getting married this summer and so I'll be like a lot you guys... gotta do this mod before we combine our bank accounts and then she will be able to see what I'm doing

Just swallow another $1500 and go for the stage 2 now cause I know you're going to regret it later and by then, it might be too late with the wife and all.

You are right man... I just got off the phone with my shop and ESS... they both fully explained why Stage 2 is better and so I'm going to go with it

It's going to be a beast with that SC and Quaife LSD .

Thanks for the help Jay. My Quaife has shipped from HPautowerks already and I found an independent shop (BMW tranny specialist) who'll install it for $380.00 in labor plus any fluids and parts.

Damn that was quick (and easy). Want to buy some beach front property in Nebraska?

That's awesome. Once you're done, run a stock M5 to see how it fares.

Haha, beach front property in Nebraska?

Run a M5 in P400 or P500?

So what does the warranty actually cover? Your telling me if you blow your motor with this, they will replace your motor if they find the S/c caused the damage within 2 years? If this is true thats great...Make sure it's not just covering their parts!!
