Retired 2006 525i
Got an email from Vishnu ( I had inquired about it several months ago) stating that they have kits ready for the 535i if I was still interested. They say that there is no way that it can be detected. Horse Power would be 360-380.
Thoughts?

It sounds interesting, but a 60 to 80 HP and torque increase is pretty hefty (20-26%). Perhaps I'm too conservative or overly cautious, but I'd be concerned about the stress on the engine. The twin turbo runs hot, and some folks have reported issues with the high pressure fuel pump and possibly the direct injectors. I can't imagine that the Vishnu programming would make the engine run cooler or put less stress on the components.

I would be very weary of the stock fuel pump and oil pump. Let's just say I've seen many problems with the first gen twin turbo vehicles, and that's in stock form too. Longevity of the turbos will definately come into play without proper care such as a boost gauge and/or boost controller in case the car over boosts or boost creeps. But I'm sure Vishnu's already thought about all that.......

Most at E90post have had good luck with Vishnu but I'd still be concerned about the long term. That's why I haven't gotten it for my 335i, plus the cost. The car is fast enough. I can't justify spending that $$.

Some one spent like $3-4K+ for 15-20hp. For this 50-60 hp and torque boost for $1300 is hard to beat. Someone was right about long term reliability. All we care is 4yr/50K miles . Man, 535 with 360hp and big 550 break is hard to beat. Add sprintbooster and wings, car can fly
