So I would really like to get my ECU remapped for more power.
I would go with euro rev if I lived in Cali, however I don't and I can't afford to ship it, who knows if it were to get lost in the mail. I don't want to be without a car for a few days. So my question is, are there kits out there where I can tune it myself? A buddy who I sit next to was telling me you can buy kits for tuning it. I wasn't sure if anything like this was available for BMW, or if I should trust any shops around in the Texas area to do this. I am out of warranty and do not want to screw up something bad by performing this.

I wouldn't worry about sending off an ecu for it to get remapped, you can insure it. If you really can't afford the downtime Dinan does make an ecu upgrade you can get at the local dealer. In terms of the BMW market no one send out a DIY type unit. I know what your friend is referring to and it would plug into your obd2 port and upload a new program, and is the standard of tuning for the Audi/VW markets, heck even Saab companies do it, but no BMW tuner to date. If you find something please let us know.
