I've just came across this iDrive Multimedia Video kit on Ebay. Is this something worth getting or is it junk? The kit looks similar to the "Modmynav" kit. But it is an Ebay item so I'm unsure of the quality.
Here is the link to the item on Ebay.

From everything the auction reads, it sounds like it's the same thing that Kris sales. And since the seller is in Korea, I wouldn't be surprised if this is actually his partner that manufactures these in S. Korea.

Hello
I've recently purchased the modmynav multimedia interface kit from the WSTO website and just got it installed, and everything works great... except for the SOUND, i dropped my car off at the shop to get the kit installed came back to pick it up assuming it would be done after 5 hours and the installer said that the video works just fine but you have no sound because my stock harness rums threw fiber-optic cables so the modmynav harness that was given for the sound is not compatible!!!
So i called WSTO asked them if there was a way to get the sound to work he said kris from modmynav would have to help me because he had no idea what to do... So kris emails my installer and tells him that the kit is only meant for video and dose not work for the fiber-optic cable systems, on top of all this now that i used it i can not get my money back that i paid for it !!
Dose any one have this installed in a 2004 bmw 545i e60 with navigation and cd changer?? If so how did you get around this to get the sound to work with the video,
Someone please help any answer will do at this point.
Thanks

Is there any aux input systems i can get that will not run threw an FM station because i currently have an i simple device in my car that is mainly just a hard wired FM transmitter and the sound is ok but it has alot of static sometimes and after about 30 mins you can start to hear alot of road noise, bumps, etc

yeah i checked into that a couple of weeks ago and BMW quoted me around 500.00 for just the AUX jack install and about 700.00 for the i pod interface install because i have to get my car reprogrammed before i can get either one of those installed in my car, to me that sounded like a little to much just to listen to my ipod thats why i stated looking for alternative ways to go hints the reason i have the i simple and your right that thing is trash .
the OEM AUX jack with the reprogram sounds like the way i have to go now, my only other option is to get the dension Gateway 500 for around 450.00 i know without the reprogram i can not use it threw my i drive but from what i was told i can still use it to listen to my ipod without having to get my car updated is this true????
Also is there any way i can just replace my CDC with an interface and use its wires for the sound output ???? I remember seeing some kind of interface that could do this a couple months back.
