Well, when I got home from driving back from the performance center, I open up my garage door to find this early Xmas present from my dad.

Looks cool CRRobert. Where did your dad get it?

Your pic reminds me of one question I've been meaning to ask...

Why is it that everyone's garage is finished in drywall and joint compound? Doesn't anyone bother to paint the garage? How much more could it possibly cost??

You're probably right about the house being new but that's exactly why I ask the question. It seems as if many people are building new houses but they don't bother to pay to paint the garage. These are usually some pretty substantial houses, I might add...why not spring for the extra $100 to $200 and paint the garage while the painter is doing the rest of the place?

Rudy, your JUST supposed to look at the banner.

Half of the garage has drywall up, and the other half does not. Work has taken a bit out of the house projects.

I am planning on putting something up like Garageworks for storage and stuff, and just have not gotten around to it. I am also planing on putting some colored floor tiles in also. Will definetly be on the list when I get back to Colorado full time.

alohalc, no W/GF yet. I can afford a 545i, but don't know about one of those.

Iceman, now if my dad could have got one of the cars out of there also....

Dad actually went through my CA that I bought the car from to get it.

CR, no apologies necessary -- I've got one of the biggest "honey-do lists" ever made!

It's still surprising to see so many pics of unfinished garages in what always seems to be new (or relatively new) construction. It's always easier to paint before everything is moved in, etc.

My house is about 60 years old -- there's probably a zillion coats of paint on the garage walls!
