Hello all!
I just went to my local dealer and I saw a really cool looking shifter knob for an e90 in stock... I really liked the look of it, and want to buy it, but I'm not sure if it will fit and look right in my e60. The SA didn't know either
any advice??
Pics of the knob below
(the dealer only has the knob without the leather boot)

You shouldn't have a problem.
I think all BMWs since the mid 90s have the same tension snap ring to hold a manual shift knob in place.
Looks cool. It looks like a cross between my 535 sport shifter and the ZHP shorter shifter.

The knob will fit but if the boot is integrated with the knob it won't. The console boot hole shapes are sllighty different between the E90 and E60 and the boot won't snap into place.
I have an M short shift knob with integrated boot from my E90 which I tried to fit. No dice. The knob fits but the boot won't. I plan on getting a E60 boot and sacrificing it for the plastic piece to make it fit as a one for one replacement with the E90 plastic piece. Haven't gotten around to doing it yet.
