hey guys. is it possible to retrofit sport joystick from f series to e6x facelift model?

 

I don't have any input here (as I only have stick shifts and have not used any BMW automatic before), but am curious what is different on that gear shifter from the facelift version? I've seen pictures of the facelift gearshift and thought it looked pretty similar, if not the same, to the one pictured here.
