E61 front disc advise
Hey guys, question- Brembo or Hella/Pagid front discs?
Anyone use any of these?
Brembo at $85AU each I think made in China 🤷🏻♂️
Hella at $100AU each don’t know where they are made?

Don’t know about Brembo being better.
They have a huge factory in China.
it’s not the Brembo they use on super cars.
Some are just lower end market stuff.
Option for my E61 was $80 Brembo discs or $100 Pagid, $144 OE, $99 Zimmermann, and $154 Zimmermann sport (cross drilled).
I should of got the OE’s or Pagid’s but I opted for Zimmermann Sport.
Will let everyone know how they go with Pagid pads.

Well Sandmann,
Why post asking for advice when you pretty much answered yourself. I gave a few suggestions as well as brands we have here in the USA. And so then you ended up with zimmerman which is the OE brand name.. again which you answered for yourself.

Ok so I’ve put 600km’s into these Zimmermann sport front discs along with Pagid pads.
I have bedded these in over this period and are now ready for some spirited driving.
I have noticed however these discs are not directional. There was no left or right orientation and the vented flutes were exactly like OE meaning the go straight up rather than curve with the holes.
I will enquire with Zimmermann as visually I have one cross drilled disc visually looking correct and the other completely visually wrong!
For the money I expected proper vented (curved)
discs and a left and right orientation.
Today I braked slightly firm and noticed a rough whirring noise, maybe a bad combination of pad and disc?
From Porsche experience I know they do make a slight whirring noise when new but not a rough feel or noise.
I feel I shouldn’t of wasted my money on these and just gone OE or Pagid maybe even the cheaper of all - Brembo
