Default E60 Xi and E61 Xi Front Shock Compatible?

Hi,

New to the site. I would like a confirmation from the fellow forums members. From my search, I believe front shock for E60 Xi and E61 Xi are the same. For instance, Bilstein Sports shock for front, E60 Xi and E61 Xi has same part number (Bilstein Sport FRONT RIGHT Strut - E60 525xi,528xi,530xi,535xi - Turner Motorsport).

If it is in fact compatible, I should be able to purchase CKS coilover for E60 Xi and use front coilovers, correct? For rear, perhaps match it up with E61 Xi specific Bilstein Sports? I am inquiring this as I noticed a group buy for E60 Xi specific CKS coilover for attractive price (https://5series.net/forums/group-buy...e60-xi-127983/).

Thanks in advance.

From what I know (having never owned an Xi), yes, the front struts are interchangeable. It's the rears that are vastly different, with the E61 having those airbags. So, yes, you should be able to use the front CKS and the Bilstiens in the rear. Just not sure how that setup would look, post pics if/when you do it.

pjinca, thanks for your confirmation! I will definitely post pics upon installation. I did find out CKS does make E61 xi coilover, so I will not have to mix the shocks!
