I'm about to change my wiper blades and the dealer quotes $80 for the set. Kind of pricey don't you think? I found some Bosch wiper blades that fit 04-06 e60 and was told this brand is basically top-of-the-line. Price is about $50-$60.
Anyone know what brand the dealer uses?

Thanks in advance.

Isn't your car still under the factory warranty? If so, BMW will replace them free of charge.

In Canada, they don't cover it

At $50 or $60 bucks, the Bosch blades are probably the same as the ones BMW is quoting you.

Just be sure they're the Bosch blades are the "Icon" style (which are bracketless). Take a look here for more information: http://www.boschautoparts.com/Produc...lades/Icon.htm

Unfortunately RealOEM.com doesn't show a Bosch part number - but the wipers on my 530xi are indeed Bosch. So a replacement insert should be readily available. There should be no need to replace the entire blade.

Well of course they're not going to reference a Bosch part number on RealOEM. If anything, you need to have Bosch cross-reference the BMW part number.

Either way, the blades are one-piece so there are no "inserts" available. Take a look at my link to the Bosch "Icon" blades above and you'll see what I mean (or just go look at the blades on your car...)

Aren?t they so called wearing parts (like tires) so the warranty doesn?t cover normal wearing??

In the USA, the full maintenance warranty (that comes standard on all BMWs) includes pretty much everything except tires and fuel -- they even include "wearing parts" like brakes. Wiper blades are included and are usually replaced automatically during a scheduled service. In addition, they'll throw new ones on pretty much any time if you complain that they streak.

Nice, in Finland you?ll have to buy everything separately, with car you only get normal warranty
