Hey guys just wondering if there any way to allow to play DVDs while in motion? I prefer codes, not some piece of hardware because it might trigger some error or void warranty. It plays DVD while in park but turns off as soon as you put it in drive. i know it is not safe or leagal in some states.
I really appreciate your comments
I have a 2010 528i

Where are you located? There are a few of us that can do this. Myself included.

However! If your car's software has been updated by the dealer recently, most nobody would be able to code it, because we have no updated files to read the new CIC code.

Sorry for my noob question but I have a dvd option (its the first option when you select the mp3 or cd 1, cd 2 etc) where do you put the dvds in? Through the navigation slot? ... I thought you need a special module or something inorder for it to work

in the cd slot, but it will only play when the car is in park, if the car is in motion the screen blanks out and i think audio is still functional. But as stated, you can get the "speed lock" deactivated via coding so the dvd will play on the CIC while driving..

Can you elaborate on your "dvd option"? I am thinking you're confused and thinking the slot for your nav disk is the dvd player. On your car, a 2006, this is not possible.

Video in motion can be coded on any E60 regardless of the software level.

The function is in the CCC and it`s called "video_deny_cob", any one with an NCSexpert setup can enable this for you.

Yes, while that's true, it will not actually enable him to play dvd with his current hardware. Basically even enabling it does nothing.

Sorry, I have a 06 530xi fully loaded with mp3 and nav .. when I got the car programmed for my LCI lights the software got updated and it created a dvd option in the audio menu which is located when you choose a specific cd to play .. I thought maybe if you put a dvd in the nav or mp3 slot it would work .. but thanks I thought it wouldn't work lol sounded stupid to lose nav to watch a dvd
