Few questions on the above:
1. Is it possible to add tweeters to a system which has the standard business audio (non-hifi, no amp in the trunk)
The grill is on the door where the tweeters should be but nothing in there.

2. Would that require replacing the front doors midrange speakers to something like this? And would these fit my current plugs on the doors?

3.I know without an amp the gain is minimal at best but I have the door panels off for other stuff, so...
Any suggestion on speaker/tweeter combo if it is possible?

 

I have seen owners upgrade from Hi-Fi to Logic 7 and from Logic 7 to aftermarket. I would search for leftover speakers being sold. I have Hi-Fi:

2 front tweeters
2 front mid-bass
2 rear tweeters
2 rear mid-bass
2 floor subs

I bought a set of E60 Logic 7 speakers (excluding subs) and replaced mine. I had one leftover mid-bass (no front center) and sold it and sold my leftover Hi-Fi speakers too.

 

I wouldn't mind fitting a pair of ALPINE DDT-S30 tweeters but does anyone know if I actually need the crossovers that they come with?
Can I just hook them up to the door midrange?

 

1. I did that too to my standard system.
2. No need to replace the door's midrange speakers. Only if you want more quality, in which case I recommend the LOGIC7 midrange speakers.
3. I used a set o Kicker tweters. The sound difference is huge.

And yes, you need the crossovers, otherwise you destroy the tweeters.

If you just put in the L7 midrange in the front doors, will it make any difference at all if the head unit is still the same, M-ASK?
And which model tweeters did you use?

 

Has anyone installed L7 midrange to the doors and noticed any difference in the amp-less system? Won't be huge since they need more power but is it an improvement over standard/hifi speakers?

 

I have not tried yet the 7 Logic midrange speakers. But I have friends who made the change and say it's huge difference. It's my next investment, as soon as i found at an affordable price.

Sorry, i don't know the details for this conversion.
Until now, i've done only the above mentioned upgrade.

 

And rear door cards (and maybe even wiring). Standard ones have no hole for the speakers.
