My Ride: BMW E60 523i 2007
Default E60 pre-LCI to LCI tail light conversion issue

I have a 2007 E60 523i and I'm looking to convert the tail lights to the new LCI ones. I bought an original pair of OEM Hella LCI tail lights from the BMW dealership. I also bought a cable that I used to plug in the new light to the old plug (Not Bruce Cables). So after I installed it, what I noticed is that when my parking lights are on and i'm not braking, the rods light up AS WELL AS the 2 halogen brake bulbs behind the rods. When I brake, the 2 brake bulbs light up stronger. They are always lit even without the brake being pressed so the rods aren't showing properly. Why is this happening and how do I fix it? I don't want to buy the bruce cables because I think they're too expensive. I attached a picture of the light to show the issue. Thanks

Upload a picture of the cable.

Is your Car LHD or RHD?
Did you install the LM2?

I purchased one off ebay that said it was the BMW Offical one(As it had BMW stickers and part numbers on it), But I also had the same problem. My car is RHD, basically the KIT is only for the LHD(i assume). This require me to cut some of the wires and re-wire them on the harness it self. Working 100% today.

BMW E60 ADAPTER CABLE WIRING CONVERSION RETROFIT LCI TAIL LIGHT 545 530 M5 525 | eBay
Do any of you guys know if these would work and if I would need to use all the wires? I would want to use just the harnesses as I'm assuming the other wires are to be used for avoiding all the codes that will come up. Not too worried about any warning lights as I'll just code them out but does anyone know if I would NEED to use all the rest of the wires that are shown there? Thanks in advance

I used the same one. Most likely you might have to cut the wires of the harness for the tail lights and re-route the wires. very easy. I can send you a picture of mines. That specific one you listed is for tail lights only. The extra long black and red wires would have to be routed from the taillights to the LM2 under the steering wheel for power.
