Not sure if I can post this audio file. If I can, I'll post another when I get my resonator removed.

Let me know if this works. |
It works. What was your final speed?

Let me know if this works.
Nice. That's the most realistic sounding sound clip of an M5 exhaust I've heard, compared to what I've heard in person. |

Let me know if this works.
Great. I started at idle, then ran the car up to 7,000 rpm, pausing at each 1,000 rpm increment. Then I did a few throttle blips, then back to idle. I'll repeat the process when I have the resonator removed. |
Nice, wished my 545 sounded like that!
Was this recorded from outside or inside the cabin? |

Here is the soundfile with the resonator removed. We just substituted two straight pipes for the stock resonator, which is two separate 'glasspack' type chambers in one outer housing. The sound is terrific - I would highly recommend it if you're looking for just a bit more exhaust 'spirit'. I will probably go a little bit more, and install aftermarket mufflers as well. Let me know what you think.
I was too - it is definitely much less than I thought it would be. But I really like it - driving around with the window open, it really sounds much better than before - but it's not a big change. This change has convinced me to go to an aftermarket exhaust, probably Eisenmann or Supersprint. If I think it's too loud, I can replace the resonator to tune it down a bit. |
