Hi I currently have a e60 535i with the winter package and the mirrors do fold. I was thinking about upgrading to m5 mirrors, I have read a few forums saying that the wiring might not match up. How can I figure out if it will or not?

 

It might not. Locate the PNs and Google the images.

 

If you have ISTA you could view the wiring diagrams there but im sure they have it on google somewhere. Did you search the forum to see if a DIY was posted

anyways OP, if you purchase LCI mirrors they should be plug and play. just make sure it is single prong with 3 wires.

they also sell aftermarket M5 mirrors on ebay as another option.

 

The point of a forum is to search first and ask questions when you are lost. Yes search because there's a lot of info on the site. Trust me I've spent a lot more of my personal time helping people in the BMW community and this forum than you have. So yes I will always recommend searching first because most of the time on this forum I'm going to be the one giving the hard answers and I would like the owners to learn something about the car they chose to own rather than trying to push the problem off on someone else that's willing to assist for free.
