hi I did some search around but still couldnt find an answer... has anyone in the US done this and it works?

I have a Nov/05 built 550i and would like to add these on my car.. .can anyone give me more info... much appreciated.

There are posts in this forum regarding to this add on to E60, but all the successful stories were in Europe not US. So far, I don't think (maybe I am wrong) any E60 owner in US (E60 with US spec.) has done this add on. The major issue is the folding feature. Nobody knows that whether US E60 has the folding feature already installed. Most likely not plug and play for all US E60 cars. Therefore, you can install this M5 mirror to your 550i but auto folding feature may not work....

If you don't care about the auto folding feature, then it should work. Otherwise, ....

i dont care much about the auto-fold as long as all the original functions work (autodip, heating, pathway lighting etc) but i hav heard that the wiring is completely diff and the plug on the M5 mirror wont fit in our original socket.... can u pls elaborate that a lil

I dont have any useful technical information to offer you. But to give you some hope, the M5 wing mirror retrofitting is offered by the dealer in Singapore as an option. I have done it on my E60 and everything works - autodip, heating, pathway lighting, auto-dimming and folding). So, yes, its definitely retrofittable.
