HI all, I'm new here so forgive me if this has been asked before!
I have recently purchased a 2008 525d E60, has been very well maintained but I need to replace a few bulbs! I'd be grateful if any could tell me what the required bulb is for the light which is highlighted in the picture and how to gain access to it? (It doesn't work on the driver's side). I have no trouble taking the whole unit out and removing the power cable - is it a LED loop rather than a bulb? Thanks for any help.
There isn't a bulb for that strip. There is a very tiny circuit board inside the assembly with around 5 LEDs and they light up that strip of fiber optics. I don't believe it's a part you can get on your own. Also, these headlight assemblies are notorious for having wire insulation that crumbles and falls off and most people find that when they open then head lights they have to recoat a bunch of wires.
On Ebay you can sometimes find people who have new circuit boards for the lights because they want to go from amber to white: https://www.ebay.ca/itm/233295026304
