I've got the bog standard E60 - 520d SE (money doesn't grow on trees you know
). Well, when I first bought the car, we looked to get the Xenon lamps, but the cost seemed outrageous, especially as we had to buy a headlight cleaning system to go with them as apparently they couldn't be purchased on their own.
Well I know you can buy Xenon replacement lamp bulbs from Halfords (car part superstore in England) for other cars, but just wondering if you could buy Xenon lamps for the E60 and if they were easy to replace. I only want to replace the main headlights, not the foglamps but just wanted to know how realistic a possibility it is.
Cheers in advance.

It's not impossible but costly and very time consuming IF you plan on installing them yourself (I have done this mod). I'm assuming you are located in the EU. In North America my dealer would not offer me the OEM xenon retrofit. I would go the OEM route if you can ..there is an official bmw retroffit to xenon headlights.
