Apologies in advance for bringing this thread back from the dead but it seems like it's the most recent active thread...
I have a 2006 E61 that was gifted to me by my dad. It had less than 90K (kms) on it when he gave it to me and he babied it so it is in VERY good condition. I just installed an Android Screen on it and once I stopped using Android Auto and got a SIM for the Android Screen I was able to reset the factory audio settings and then play around with the Spotify Settings (Higher quality sound, preset EQ settings that I thought sounded pretty good, and I think it even had some DSP for "theater") which made the stereo sound much better. However, I can tell it's still very limited. I started getting ads in my IG for Bavsound and then looked them up and they seem like a pretty good option. I tried searching for the Jehnert kit mentioned in this thread but looks like it's discontinued. Before I make any moves though, I think I need to know what stereo I have. I tried to look for an original invoice but oddly enough my OCD dad didn't keep it in the glovebox like I thought he would. I don't think it's the base model as there are tweeters in the A-pillar, and I found what looks like an amp in the rear left "hidden" storage compartment. I don't think it's the Harman Kardon version as I don't see any HK logos anywhere. So I'm guessing I have the S676A version. Previous web searches suggested there was only a base and Harman Kardon option available so I'm extra confused right now. I have the built-in NAV DVD reader and the CD Changer built into the center column if that helps. Can anyone help me confirm? Also, I assume that having an amp would make the speaker upgrade more noticeable for me?
Any help or suggestions would be very appreciated!

Dude! Thank you so much! That was EXACTLY what I was looking for! So apparently I have the S677 "HiFi System Professional DSP", which I will assume it's the Harman Kardon system as that's what Bavsound has listed as the S677.
Now to try to look at options. It's a touch expensive to get it shipped from Bavsound in the US and not sure about the Alpha One's from the Bimmertech website (can't tell which currency they will charge me in so still on the fence). Also, from what I read I don't know if the speaker upgrade will make a huge difference over the stereo I currently have. I want to try to avoid upgrading the amp as it seems pretty expensive and could possibly the lowest cost to return ratio. Wondering if anyone here has experience with upgrading to a Bavsound or Bimmertech from the Higher End sound systems? I don't need to do this right away and I probably shouldn't either... Especially with those nice Black Friday Deals tempting me LOL!
