Your plan sounds feasible to me. I have fitted (well mainly Hobi fitted for me) switches in the cigarette tray on my CSL, which is very neat. This has start, stop for video, start/stop for data logging, and rewind/fast forward.

My 535d has all the button positions filled so what you describe might be possible, although I heard somewhere it was a complete unit behind the switches that is coded to the car - might be worth asking a friendly parts guy on that.

If I have understood this correctly. To watch TV I need an additional add-on, the dvbt settop box? Anybody now what the price is?

I have Sat-pro and original DVD player installed. Can I use this player to play DVD movies?

Do you mean the internal navi dvd drive? That drive CANNOT play vids. Only nav dvd and music cd/cdr/dvd?s. For watching dvd you need an additional dvd player or original dvd charger. And yes for watching tv you?ll need a settop box from bmw about 400 Euro in germany.
