Has anyone heard anything about Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sports?
Yes. These tires get good reviews and several members have them. General Exclaim UHPs are relatively inexpensive, but great tires. I've driven the Nitto 555s also--quality tire. I have the PS A/S and it suits me--good if you need an all-season.

I'm new to the forum and have just gotten a used 2007 530i with the sport package, but I'm already looking at replacement tires for the original dunlop sport DSST tires. How loud are these tires compared with other options for the stock size and still sporty handling? Any recommendations on a replacement?

thanks in advance

I have the Dunlop Sport SP01 RFT that came from the factory.

I must be strange... I don't notice much wrong aside from some noise from wear.

Maybe I don't know the difference. I have ~18k miles on them, (took them off for winter).

Perhaps the sport suspension and ARS system makes them easier to bear.

My fronts are perfect still, and the rears have ~4/32 left on them. I plan on putting another matched pair on the rear, and then changing out to 4 Non-RF when the fronts and rears need to be replaced.

What am I missing? Is there THAT much of an improvement?

I have a set of the Bridgestone RFTs on my original 18" wheels but added a set of CSL Reps with General UHP non-RFTs for the winter months.

You should check the tire surveys on tirerack ... and use them for price comparisons, too. If you decided to shop and buy there check thru the link in my signature for additional $$$ rebates and coupons.

I wanted to add that the 245/40x18 Bridgestone RFTs my '07 530xi came with were very grippy, rode well (harsh but OK), and were very quiet. Of course they are "summer tires".

BUT ... they didn't stand up to potholes! I lost a wheel and tire 3 months into the drive ... I've been running the General UHP tires on the CSL's and have slammed a couple of potholes and (I HOPE I'M NOT JINXING MYSELF!!) no problem. Rode thru them without harm.

The Bridgestones will go on for the rest of the summer - when they wear out I'm undecided what I'll replace them with. Especially if I decide to buy a new car later this year.

Those are definitely my favorite at the moment. I was thinking Michelin PE2's, but they don't come in the right size..
Thanks for the advice
What size are you thinking about?

18" must be 245/40 18" or (275/35 18" rear).

Michelin PS2's come in all E60 suitable sizes for (18" and 19" wheels).

Don't mess with the tire sizes and be sure the wheels ET's are OK!

245/40R18. The Michelin's look really good, but they're something like $250 for that size, vs 150 for the bridgestones. Too much of a price difference, unless the michelins are that much better...

What do you mean "wheels ET's"?

+1 on Michelin PS A/S.
