My Ride: 2006 523i steptronic (delivered 22nd Sept. 2005) solid black, amethyst dakota leather, styling 124 18" PS2
I have a set of 18" Dunlop runflats and I have no experience with anything else. My rides had been OK. But after hearing so many negative comments on runflats, what am I really missing? What is the lowest profile tyres I can use with runflats and non-runflats? Thanks.

There have been lots of complaints, but I think they're decent tires. I have an early '04 model where the dunlops were known to be problematic, but tires have done okay.
I didn't have the loud tire roar that many have complained of, but I do have some of the tires wearing uneven, with the inner tread wearing first. I could of likely gone to the dealer and gotten some replacements, but in the end felt it was to much of a hassle. Also, I thought I may be taking advantage of the situation since the tires have served me well.
I'm due for new tires, so I'll take of the opportunity to put some high performance, non runflats on there. I'm swaying towards the toyo T1Rs. In the process, I'll likely get a more compliant ride along with better handling. I'm looking to go bigger than 245s on the front, so we'll see how that works.
