I asked in a prior posting if it was possible to switch from the standard heated seats to the 20-Way Multi-Function Comfort Heated Seats. Well, it is indeed possible. I just finished having the local dealer swap them for me.
I bought the Comfort Seats off of eBay. They were out of a salvaged 2005 545I. They were in perfect condition with the exception of a blown seatbelt pre-tensioner (they used one off of my old seats to replace it.)
Here are the numbers;
Used Comfort seats - $450
(Yes - $450 for the pair including shipping from Wisconsin to California!)
Labor - $729.88
(Yes ? Total install with clearing of codes; Thank you Bob Smith BMW & Service Writer Julia Moffa)
Total cost for the best seat swap ever - $1170.88.
Now, anyone want to buy a pair of beige heated standard seats?

That's amazing work....would have thought it to be too much trouble to perform this but you've proved me wrong. Can't wait to see your pics with the dyed black leather.

What are you going to do about the carpet and the rest of the beige interior?

It will be two tone black and beige. The carpet, headliner and other parts will remain beige. I'll post some photos when it's done. Some folks on the Rennlist board and done this with their Porsches and it comes out well.
