OK...I spoke to Magnaflow directly. The inlet pipe for this exhaust is 2.25". The inlet pipe diameter of the stock muffler, per ro11dice and FANTASTIC 5, is 2.5". Therefore, all they said I would need is what's called a "reducer" and the weld can be done without any issues. Had the difference been .5" or greater, they said no. But since it's only .25", it's totally fine.
However, I have a question for AlpineWhite. AW - Wasn't your inlet pipe on your magnaflow 3"? That would be a difference of .5", assuming the 525 and 530 have the same muffler. And you said there were no problems right? Do you know if your muffler shop used a reducer to weld it together? Can you find out and confirm?
