I prefer the tinted look, but have never had it done b/c I think it cuts down on your ability to see out of the car. However, tinted windows cut down on heat absorption and compensate to some degree for a dark exterior and/or interior.

I prefer the tinted look. It looks more sporty, especially on the E61!
Added advantage is peolpe do not see my laptop behind my seat, if anyone tries to smash the window, the foil will keep it in place and the UV-rays are blocked, so they do less damage to the interior and my skin!

+1 on looks but the reduced outside visibility (especially at night) has always prevented me from getting tints. It gives a sportier and more agressive look to the car and is certainly of great benefit to those living in warm sunny places but the tradeoff is not worth it in my opinion.

I prefer tint, but nothing darker than 30% tint. I think that tint which is too dark takes away from the look of the E60 which is also the interior, etc. But there is no question a car looks sharper with tint! Why do you think ALMOST every car commercial shows off their vehicles with tint on all FIVE windows?

IMO.... tint is a MUST have for any car.
Doesn't have to be dark. Makes a huge difference when driving in summer here in SoCal.

That's another thing. My car is actually tolerable in the Summer after I installed ceramic tints. Black on Black is a KILLER.

Me 4. But not by choice since NJ does not allow tints on the front side windows.
