Yesss !!!!!

It's important to keep the neighbourhood entertained.

True story time.

About 20 yrs ago I came home from school to see my brothers car , a maroon coloured VW Golf, with newspaper stuck to side.I asked him what he was doing. He explained he was spray painting the car. I didn't think much more of it since the paintwork was in need of touching up.

To my horror I returned home from school the next day to find a huge "starsky and hutch" stripe down the side of the car. A freakin' VW Golf !!!.

Oh the shame! The embaressment ! I had to learn to drive in that bloody car!

I need to find some pics.........

All I can say is that pinstriping is very 1986. So maybe it is fine for you since you like that year
We have pinstriping on our '88 E28 along the midsection's crease from the sides to the rear. We actually like it but it does have to be replaced every 5 years or so as it breaks/tears off. I think you're right; it was more of an 80's look along with the clear deflector over the sunroof.

No pinstripes, please.

I think pinstripes looked fine on 80's vintage BMW models to complement their more rounded edges ... but on Bangle's flame surfaces, no way.

I like subtle pinstripes. I saw just don't over do it, and I like complimentary stripes, rather than, overly contrasting stripes. Who cares if its a BMW. Done right, stripes should look good.

I guess you missed the 50's, 60's, and 70's.

How about a Starsky and Hutch stripe on the sides of your 550?
