A friend of mine got his 540 about 4 or 5 years ago and he's been modifying with Dinan Stuff. He swears by it. He's poured a lots of dough into make his 540 into a small rocket ship. Check out his web page. It has a lots of pics and specs.

Question: These upgrades are pricey. And they are not DYI type of stuff. There's Stage 1 software, State 2, etc and a whole bunch of other things that can't be done without breaking the bank. Has anyone attempted to modify their E60? What have you heard about Dinan? Good? Bad? Ugly?

If you wanted all those mods, maybe an E39 is what should have been purchased. It will take awhile for mods to come out for the E60, maybe years.

Dinan = Waste of money...

The amount of money you spend so the potential gain is Outrageously expensive. If you want your 545 to go faster, you ar emuch better off selling the 545 and buy the E60 M5.

The aftermarket mod is a game for suckers. If you are the type w/ more money than sense, please go right ahead

^^^^The main reason I don't spend a lot of money on my 530. I should have bought a 545 if I spend $10k in upgrades. Doesn't make sense to me. I used the $10k and bought my Corvette Z06. Lots of zoom there. Lots of luxury in the 530.

Beewang may have a point. Not to be too negative about Dinan, but the results speak for themselves. I have read countless road tests for very expensively modified cars (Dinan in particular) where there is virtually no improvement in acceleration, both straight line or lateral G force. However, with that said, sometimes the search for the right modification is more about creating something different than stock. Out of the hundreds of tuners that exist, I would have to say only a handful of them actually improve the handling, performance, or looks of the cars in a substantial way. Just my opinion...
