anyone have this installed on their car, I'd really like to hear how it sounds. I met a guy that has an M5 with Dinans exhaust and it sounds insane? I've looked around the internet and can't find any videos for it? |
I had the Dinan exhaust on my old 545 and I liked the sound although it was very mellow compared to some of the other exhausts out there. Send a PM to member olskooldj (Rex) as he has the Dinan exhaust on his 545 also. See if he can record it for you if you're unable to find anyone in your area to listen to it live.
That said, have you thought about the RPI exhaust? It sounds more menacing and RPI has demonstrated real gains on their dyno. |

That's AndrewSherman's M5 on M5Board. :)
You have to understand that the sound will be different between your car and the M5 due to the different engine size and characteristics. Hopefully you'll get to listen to something first hand to help you make your decision. |
RPI may be deep-sounding outside, but doesnt drone or anything inside :)

DINAN FREE FLOW EXHAUST Part # D660-0003 Price $1199.00 HP: 6 Torque Gain: 5 lb/ft RPI GT EXHAUST Part # [RP-EG114] Price: $899.00 HP: 13 WHP Torque Gain: 25 Ft/Lbs Torque i used to own the 535 free flow exhaust and paid 1800 for it. The gains were 5whp and 6ft/lbs of torque. Personally for the money vs gains it was a not brainer for me, I switched over to the RPi GT Exhaust. if you want great sound AND power go with Race precision. You can PM Nerweezy or John@Eurorev for the best pricing |
if you feel the RPi exhaust is too loud, they do make silencers. no welding in necessary and can be removed/installed with a screw driver.

I'll try to record soon and post.
No brainer for me to go with Dinan as their headquarters are only 15 minutes from my house. My decision paid dividends when BMW wiped out the flash, I drove back to Dinan the following day and they re-flashed free of charge (of course) within an hour. |
I have the Dinan on my 545i but I don't have anything to record and post the sound (assuming I could figure it out which is questionable)
In the garage the Dinan is a very deep, growl/rumble. Sounds almost exotic car to me. Great on the road. You can hear it accelerate nicely but is almost silent at highway cruising speed. No drone at all. Best mod I have done after my LSD. Love it. |
