Well, I just had my CAI from Dinan installed last week as well. So I guess Dinan counted wrong. ![Tongue](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/tongue.gif)

Hey Choi000,
Are you the one that Andrew from LB BMW is talking about? Did I hear there was a 19hp gain - most felt in mid-range...and if you don't mind, how much did that cost?
Thanks

Do we know if this CAI can be used on the new 4.8L engine in the 550 (and 650)? I guess I better go to their site just to see if there is an answer there

About $900 to $1,000 not counting labor of about $330. Check at Dinancars.com.

Thanks Znod for the pricing. Now forgive my ignorance...what happens with waranty and routine servicing, will it have to go to Dinan from now on or will dealer work with it? I'm just weighing my options right now.

Not sure which Andrew you might be talking about, but the guy that installed my Dinan CAI is also called Andrew but he's from Avus Autosport. I had him install the Dinan CAI and Dinan Throttlebody for $2100. Dinan claims 19HP from the CAI but I wouldn't know unless I had it dynoed. However, I can tell you that I feel a much better throttle response, especially in the mid range. One thing that I would've liked was for the intake to be a bit louder.

Dinan claims 17 hp for the CAI and 5 hp for the throttle body.
On a different note, Choi000, your car must be one of the most modded e60s on this forum. That's an impressive list. Don't know if you already have but you should do a detailed gallery for your ride.

Does Dinan have a dyno chart for each of their mods so buyers can know exactly how many horses gained per mod?

I don't think you'll see the chart. Dinan has both max HP and torque gains posted for the available 545i parts.

Yeah, they don't have the charts on their site. They do have an extensive write up about dyno testing and some sample charts are on there, mostly for the e39 M5 I believe.
If it makes you feel any better, I've been in their dyno room and have seen their 545 hooked up undergoing testing for the new MAF.
