When I had my 550i, I pretty much built up (part after part) a "semi-S1" package (the only part I didn't get was the rear strut bar to have an official S1 car). Anyway, in the 2 years I had my Dinan550, I felt the power change (+30 hp) was tremendous. At least, in my opinion it was. Throttle response was immediate, acceleration was furiously torquey, and handling was super sticky in the corners yet comfy and not super stiff when cruising. Best of all, the exhaust note was never overbearing. Droning was mellow, not obtrusive, and only occurred between 1500 - 2000 rpm regardless of what gear you're in. The only growl you'll hear from the exhaust was at startup or past 5000 rpm. Otherwise, cruising at highway speed was always quiet.
If you're planning to get the S package for your 545i, I strongly suggest adding the Dinan throttle body to take advantage of the increased air flow from the Dinan air intake. So instead of 349 hp, you'll have 354 hp to play with. May not seem like a lot but it sure made a believer out of me when I test drove Steve Dinan's project Dinan5 545i which was equipped with every Dinan product possible. Here's something to read if you haven't seen/read it yet:

Whether the package/price is worth it totally depends on you. Some say it's a waste of money because Dinan's products are expensive. Some say it's worth it because of Dinan invests tons of time into R&D for their products and backs them with a warranty. Personally, I wouldn't put anything else on my old 550i or current M5 if "Dinan" isn't stamped on it. As is always said, to each his/her own. Good luck with whatever choice you make.

Thanks for the good write-up. Im going to the dealer tomorrow and discuss the S package adding the throttle body.
Thanks!

I was thinking of doing the Dinan S package, its around $3,700 for parts + labor. Is it worth the price?
Any advise would be great.
Thanks

For $3700 I DO NOT think it's worth it. Get the remap, AFE intake, exhaust, springs, shocks, and installed for LESS than that
