Has anybody installed a Dinan Differential on their E60? I am not too familiar with this part, does it increase the acceleration rate of the car?

What model do you currently own? Find out the final drive ratio and see what it is. The cars are nearly all different. BMW publishes it under "technical data" on the website.
For the 530i, the automatic cars are already 3.64:1. The standard shift cars are 3.23:1.
For the 550i, the automatic cars are 3.38:1 and the standard shift cars are 2.93:1.
The higher the final drive ratio, the faster the acceleration.

I spoke with hollywoodtrash about his car. He's going to get a 550i SMG. It's supposed to arrive sometime in early to mid June.

Thanks UU, I see what you are saying now. So does that mean if I'm going 60 with a Dinan Differential, the RPM will be higher if I was going 60 with a stock differential?

If I'm thinking about it correctly, then I think the answer is yes.
2.93:1 to 3.45:1 is a pretty good jump.

Is the Dinan unit a limited-slip? If it is, it will also aid in acceleration.

Is there a con? Only one I can think of is your gas mileage will decrease somewhat. And correct me if I'm wrong, but you will not gain any additional HP but provide more power to the wheels thus a faster acceleration?
