I've been informed by my dealer that there are two specs for Euro and the US.

The US one has the 'yellow light' on the side and the Euro version doesn't.

Is this true or is it a way to get rid of old stock?

From what I gathered on this site, the 'LCI' version is the ones with that yellow
light whereas the old version, pre-LCI, doesn't have it.

Anyone in the know who can confirm this?

Hi,

Europeans don't know the version with the yellow light, regardless which version, LCI or Pre LCI.

Hope that helps...

So you're saying that the M-Tech kit sold in Europe doesn't have that "yellow blinker strip" on the side of the wheel?

Yes, neither Pre LCI nor LCI Versions have it - I think, this is a North American spec. - the cars in America and Canada have to have it, on the front in yellow on the rear in red, so the cars can be better seen from the side, in Europe we don't have this law.

One more thing: It's the same with the turn signals on the tail lights, in the US it's red, in Europe red is not allowed - our color os yellow/amber.

Now our friends from munich had designed the LCI tail lights for both areas - Europe and US, both have the led's on the side, only difference is the turn signal color - so BMW gets it cheaper, we pay more...

BMW sells Euro-spec cars here so maybe this is why I kept getting blank stares when I was shopping around for M-Tech kits -- I kept saying it's not an LCI kit cuz there are no yellow lines on the side and they kept saying 'no, this is it'.

Eh.....
