I found some good info on a Swedish site that I would like to convey to you, as there are many questions on what the different sound systems entail:
Standard system 2 mid range speakers in the front doors, 2 mid range speakers in the shelf behind the back seat and one base speaker behind each front seat. In total 6 speakers. Amplifier: Main unit only, has 4 x 15 W (@4ohm), 98db from 63Hz, Freq range 50-14000Hz +/-3db HiFi (676) As above, but also 2 tweeters in the area at the side mirrors and 2 tweeters together with the mid range speakers in the shelf. In total 10 speakers. Amplifier: Main unit with the same wiring as above. Additional unit 2x40w (@2ohm) for the base speakers under the front seats. The unit is found behind the right side panel in the trunk compartment. 104db from 50Hz. Freq range 40-20000Hz +/-3db HiFi Prologic 7 (677) as HiFi, but also one centre mid range speaker in the center of the dashboard and one mid range speaker in each back door (to create a surround sound) In total 13 speakers Amplifier: One unit for the whole system; 7x40w for tweeters and mid range speakers (@2ohm) and 2x70W (@4ohm) to the base speakers under the front seats. 110db from 40Hz. Freq range 30-20000Hz +/-1,5db Individual Audio "Dirac" (752) as above, but now with a tweeter to the mid range speaker in the dashboard, and tweeters in the back doors, but mounted coaxially (separated) In total 16 speakers Amplifier: Amplifier with 9 channels with more power (825W) and the "dirac"-technology (active time compensation). 112 db. Freq 18-24000Hz +/- 3db |
Hi
Thanks , great information, now I can see and understand what the difference is between the Logic 7 and the individual DSP :getlost: . |

I would be curious to know though if the frequency ranges stated above for each type of system is the frequency that is produced coming from the head unit, or just what the total speaker range by the speakers that can be reproduced??? I.E. is it limited by the head unit or the speakers? If that is the figure coming from the head unit, that would mean if you have the standard HiFi or lower you could never really add any low end bass to your car (below 40Hz) unless you change the head unit. And if you have the standard EU system (>50Hz) you're really screwed even if you upgrade the speakers and amp if the head unit is the deciding factor Think about it....if you by a 10-12" subwoofer how are you gonna get a low bass response if you never had a frequency below 40hz going from your line tap?? |
what's the difference between business and professional?

i always seem to be difficult
