I actually like it. Def something different for a car such as the e60.

It's interesting that most associate the red lip style with JDM etc but ACS actually have done it for a while now, back in the mid 90s in their E36 cars. I get the same confused look with my gold wheels as they associate it with Subaru and other japanese import cars but again, BMW have been doing it on some of their E21, E28s etc. back in the days with factory gold wheels. It's just that JDM community popularized the look again and I think that may be a reason for the association.

i like it jason
however, what do you think about making the whole lip red too? i thought ppl went with a thin colored stripe only on wheels w/ no lip.
but its usually body color though...

btw, i'm also not sure why the colored stripe and gold rims are associated only with jdm and ricers.
i mean, if its good enough for ferrari...

What car is that in the last pic? Looks awesome!!

As for the gold wheels, I actually thought about putting some DPE R20s in gold on my car.

Jim Glickenhaus' P4/5 By Pininfarina.

He thought the Enzo was ugly, so when he bought one, he immediately sent it to Pinnifarina and had them resurect the 'lost art' of mid-20th-century custom coachbuilding. Basically a $4million mod and supported by the factory too! Most impressive is that when I met him he said he drives it all over NY!

Google 'ferrari p4/5' or read the thread from 'Napolis' himself -

BTW, sorry to hijack your thread Jason. How about polished gold lips on your black rims? I think that'd look sweet on your black car...

You can't really compare the look of other cars, especially exotics. I mean those lambos can easily pull off orange and green wheels and ferraris look quite natural in yellow. Any of these color combos on an e60 however would probably be quite disastrous.
