Im having issues with my unit. It doesn't want to read it for more than 5 seconds, after that it goes to the its ok to disconnect screen. the cd1-cd6 are grayed out. i reset it about 20 times. i checked all the connection, tested the power and ground. This is my second replacement. could it be a fiber optic cable problem? how can i diagnosed it?

i don't look at the ipod much when I'm using it, but i'm pretty sure that "OK to Disconnect" screen is normal. if your CD1-6 are greyed out you have either a fiber problem or the dip switches aren't set correctly. if it was a fiber problem i think you'd have other errors (SOS malfunction on the screen, or no audio at all, etc.)

Just came back from the dealership, and they said that my MOST connection is fine, they bypass the tcu beacuse it wasnt reading it, i think is dead. they also reinstall the dension and it wasnt being recognized at the programming station.

Try to download the firmware for it. I have ben having issues with mine lately. It will make this squealing noise and flip back inforth between the radio and ipod then sometimes the Ipod will not come back on even if I click on it on the idrive. It only will play the radio or the single cd.

just a hunch, but do you have nav? if not, the car needs to be coded for the factory iPod adapter for it to work. cars with nav just need MP3 retrofit coding. if you do the MP3 retrofit on cars without nav you still won't have a functional dension.

have you replaced the cables, or just the module? also, do you have a USB stick you can put some MP3s on to test?
