I have an 05 530i e60, no nav, no cd changer, no...anything. Just a 6'5 display with basic single cd player. I read up that my car was never capable of displaying text. However, I got my dension installed and programmed last week. When I use my iPod and/or hard drive, it displays the full id3 tags (the name of the song, name of the artist, etc) when I set the dip-switch on 1,2,6.
CD text does not work.
Is this normal?? If my car is not text capable, then why is it displaying text when set on the dip-switch for cars with text??

AFAIK the only Dension that will work w/ E6x is Gateway 500, no?
But ... when in doubt you can always find it in their website = http://www.dension.c...mw_02_12_11.pdf

I have a decision anxiety. I am about to buy a Dension Gateway 500's BT Single foot. I drive a BMW 530i e60 2004/04 release.
I have enabled IPOD + and + KMP3 with Ncs expert. But my CD in dash still does not play MP3 CDs. It is * Medium can not be read *
The only thing I want is that if I buy a Dension then the display text and song name. I see you * junior * j got this right. Did you do anything special?
every help is gratefully
