I'm sure this is a stupid question, but can anyone tell me what the deck lid finisher is? What's the difference between the E60 sedan and the M5?
Thanks.
Thanks.

This is the trunk lid finisher. If you look closely the trunk key hole is not there. The part is standard on all M5s. There are two versions, European and US. Mine happens to be the Euro version. It's an optional part for all other e60s.

EuroCarFan has the US version. Again, look right under the 545i badge on his car. That is the part in question.

I thought only the ACS finisher stuck out. Could I see a better picture of that US model?
On regular E60s, the part between the rear tail lights that holds the license plate is concaved whereas the M5 is flushed. The trunk lid finisher is just a plastic piece that mounts with double sided tape and fills in the concave part and makes everything flushed. I hope that makes sense.

Oh, wow, all these months I thought a lid finisher was a fancy word for a rear deck spoiler (as opposed to a wing spoiler). thank you for the edumacation!
