Well, car is now out of warranty (although service and maintenance pack still has a couple of years to run) so the big decision is should I re-map or not.

I presume since it's a March '04 release that it'll have the 218BHP block. Anyone else had their 530d re-mapped and, if so, what were the results?

Cheers

Chris

Mine's a 218bhp 2004 model 530d and I had DMS carry out the remap on my car. I don't know how accurate the increased power figures that were quoted are (between 265-275) but the car is certainly a lot faster off the blocks and more responsive overall than it was before. Mine's an automatic by the way so it still suffers from the usual auto gearbox lethargy from pulling away from junctions but in all other respects it's been like driving a different car.

for a diesel especially, a remap is one of the best "bangs for your buck". with a remap in general, it is said that it is undetectable by the dealer. even if the dealer ended up overwriting the remap, you could always get your ecu reflashed.

From what I gather from other "tuned" diesel owners, it's really worth it and the reliability doesn't seem to be affected if you go for a nice moderate boost > why not - do it !
