2007 E60 with adaptive Xenons. I upgraded to Angel iBrights (AIBs). When I leave the light switch in Auto mode, with Daytime Running Lights(DRL) on, The "low beam" (which isn't really a low beam, only used for DRLs) looks very yellow compared to the AIB's. Does anyone know of a bulb replacement for the DRL which will color match the AIBs and Xenons?

The DRLs operate at reduced voltage ... I don't think any upgraded bulbs will make them match your AIBs and Xenon. I manually switch my parking lamps on and the AIB's operate as DRLs.

even when i switch on my parking lamps, it still shows the ugly DRL. prolly have to have dealer code the car. if u an find H7 LEDs and put some resistors there, it should work since LEDs work on a lower voltage. I dunno and havent experimented yet. U can be the guinea pig

Thanks! It looks like I need to turn off the daytime running light option, then manually switch on the parking lamps. That should do for now. I will keep looking for a DRL upgrade.

Thanks for your response. I think there was a significant bulb change for '08. The angel eyes now run off an H8 bulb. I think my daytime running lights do require the H7. The manual just says take it back to the dealership and doesn't give any bulb replacement data for the E60 530i for '07. The do give data for the '08s but it didn't work out for me!

Thanks for the response. The 2008's had a bulb upgrade and the angel eyes now can use an H8 bulb. I think my DRL's require the H7 bulb, although that's not clear from my manual. It just states that for problems, I should take it back to the dealership. I'll keep looking!

I found an LED H7 LED replacement upgrade quoted at 1 watt. Best I can tell this is the equivalent of a 25W bulb. The original is 3W. The bulb design also looks like the light come directly out an opening in the front, instead of bouncing off the reflector. I am not sure this is what I am looking for. I will keep looking and let you know if I can find any 3W LED H7's that might work!

Let us know what you find... I'm very interested as well. I replaced my DRL lamps with HID matching H7 bulbs but due to the lower voltage they are still too yellow for my taste. Someone who could find an LED lamp that looks good and white, not too bright, and doesn't require added resistors or throw iDrive errors would have a gold mine of an opportunity for DRL drivers (Canada, eh?!).
