My Ride: 545i SMG with Limited Slip Differential
Model Year: 2005
Default

Recently I have posted pics of the making of the new exhaust .
http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=...xhaust&st=0

Yesterday I went to Monza circuit to test the M5 brakes on track and at the endof the run I made 2-3 clips for you (someone asked ..) with the help of a friend .

Here a pair of pics :

Here clips :

Forum_clip1.mov

Forum_clip2.wmv
(rename changing the extension from .WMV to .MP4)

(rename changing extension from .WMV to .MP4)

In the 3rd video I've tried to do a 'LC' (acceleration assist) but the SMG was too hot after the track (vegastrashed will understand ) .

In next days I will replace stock kat with sport kat and maybe the sound will change a little .
The member Jet190rs told me to tell them to put this exhaust into production and put it on their US site www.ricambiamerica.com : I have talked with the boss and he told me that if there are at least 4-5 guys who want the quad exhaust they can produce those 4-5 (or more) and ship them to their importer in US .
The proposal is : QuadM for the M5 rear bumper and www.x-ost.com for the exhaust .

Bye!

M5 rear bumper (wonderful!!) about 500 euros but send a PM to the member named Quad_M that has almost the best prices in the world .
Exhaust about $2000 (EUR 1500), but within 10-15 days I'll return there to replace stock kat with sport kat and I ask all details about price etc. and after I will launch the group buy in the group buy forum .
1500e is a huge amount of money, but now I think it worth (both for to have 4 pipes and for performance-sound) .
But only for 545i/550i because 6 cilinders engines has a completely different exhaust .

The problem is that they haven't a 525i to make ... Those men work for ferrari fab and in the free time make exhaust for Porsches, Ferraris, Lamborghinis ... For 545i/550i they would unmount my exhaust, make the template and when you order a 545i/550i exhaust they will reproduce it .

If you go there with a 997 Turbo or with an F430 they install new exhaust in 5 hrs because they already have parts ready, if you go there with a 525i you have to wait 2-3 days .
I know they have made a 535d with M5 bumper and quad exhaust : I have to ask if they have made the template ...

Within next few weeks I'll come back there and ask all details .

Dinan :

X-ost :

Not any comparison possible

And the boss promised me that we will try to make shrill and metallic the sound, although the V8 engine does dark sound .
