Part of me wants to do this so badly, but I think I have one of those colors it may not look so great with. I have Monaco Blue and it's just so dark already. What do y'all think?

If I even do the kidneys I'd have to address the silver strip in the front grill, no?

To do, or not to do?

Some people like dark-on-dark, but I prefer a contrast. Also, You would need to consider how all the other chrome remaining on the car would look with shadow trim. Bottom line, however, is what you like. You might try taking a few pics in the sun that represent the true color of the car then do some photoshop work on the trim to see what you think.

Would you address that silver strip in the grill? How?

The parts I see are gloss black kidneys and matte window trim. Is there a gloss window treatment too? I've heard about it (pricey), but I don't see it when I do LCI 528 part number searches.

I'd do it, but that is because I personally do not like the chrome look. My ride is black and went with a gloss black trim for the chrome and even the pillars. Went with a gloss black grille and vinyl wrapped the LCI strip up front. For that I did a black and red setup cause I am going for a black/red theme for now. For the vinyl I went with: http://www.bmwshadowline.com/

Sounds awesome, love to see it.

Part of me wants to keep the stock look as much as possible, it's a 528i not an V8 or an M5. The shadowline stuff is oem bmw, so I think it's still the spirit of the law at least. I like the idea of drawing people's eyes away from the window line and kidneys as much as possible though. I'm conflicted obviously.

I painted my trim and grills matte black along with the calipers and hubs. I also debadged it so the only thing chrome on my E60 is my RPI exhaust.

Swap out the chrome grills with black ones to match the Shadowline! You can even swap out your chrome model numbers on the trunklid for blacked out ones too! STEALTHY!!
