i have a 2004 545I....i am looking for a direct fit cold air intake kit from the throttle body to the air filter..... i have only found the cone leading from after the mass air flow sensor...i havent found the entire kit scoop and all..... wondering if anybody knows where i can find the entire kit and how it sounds... and if it gives a nice boost to your engine accelleration and horsepower.....let me know

Other than Dinan, there is no company that makes CAIs that work. aFe's are heat soaking pieces of sh*t, and Dinan is very expensive.

But there are alternatives, search the forums, there is a topic where a guy made a dual intake Dinan intake himself and apparently it works! The members' name is Brabusw209amg.
Another option is the RPi scoop, it works sort of like a teenee tiny supercharger. With 60mph airflow, you can get 8-10hp AT THE REAR WHEELS. You can get a Scoop/High flow BMC filter combo for about $170 from Trinity Autosport. Contact member NeRwEEzy.

Dinan is the only way. I have the Dinan CAI and two RPI scoops. The combo is very nice.

I thought about going this CAI route previously, but after reading up on what everyone was saying, I removed my charcol filter, inserted a K&N and put on a RPI air scoop - I very happy. Removing the charcol filter gave a lil more grunt too. I decided now to order the RPI 550i GT exhaust.

best setup would be the RPI ram air scoop and aftermarket air filter, BMC or K&N. with the v8s that have gotten the Dinan intake, 2 scoops are functional on both sides.
