Anyone have this stuff put on the front of their e60? Pro's...... Cons? Never owned a black car before...kinda concerned about noticeable chips to the front end.
Also, bmw's site doesn't list it for an '06 550, I just noticed.....is there an aftermarket company out there that makes it for '06 models?

Most competent tint shops can do this for you. Usually 3M material.

I'm not a fan of the clear stuff for the hood and paint. You can always see it there.

I did however have the 3M clear protectant applied to the my headlights. I hate the way the headlights get pitted.

I use to have it.. It great against all chipping. but a pain in the ass to take off it doing it yourself.

Some cons that I have heard is that if the car sits in the sun it will fade unevenly something like that, but never happened to me..

I've got it on mine, for about 2-3 months now.
Been very happy on how much it has saved my
front end from chips and pits.

Get it. I've had it for all my cars since 2003 and will get it for any car in the future. No fading problems either... but I wouldnt recommend removing it yourself when you need to... its a PITA... pay someone that knows how to do it.

How much does it cost? Do places carry pre-cut pieces, or is it all custom? I may consider doing this....my last car was was all chipped up on the front end

i've heard the 3m protective clear armor turns yellow. you should use ventureshield they offer lifetime warranty against defects such as yellowing, cracking etc.. i've had it on my car for 6 months i did a full front end wrap, whole fenders and hood. cost me 1200

Wow! More than I expected. Cheaper than a new paint job though

It cost me no more than $700... usually it ranges from $400 to $600 ish for hood bumper fender lights and side mirrors... got www.xpel.com and on the bottom right side enter your zip code to find a local installer. Look for one thats both factory trained and a DAP member. that usually means they have their own machine and will cut the film on site instead of buying pre-cut film... so they should have more experience on the installation.

i saw it on a white bmw that was about 2 or 3 years old.. and it was not white anymore..that did it for me.. the clear bra looked yellow-ish maybe on a darker car(other then white) its good though.. just my opinion
