Wondering how many people have the clear bra installed on their cars?

I''m thinking about it but not the one from the dealership.
Dont like the 3M film from the dealer.

I don't know the necessity of Clear bra. I mean, yes, they do protect the covered area. But the these issues have prevented me from getting it:

1. It only cover limited part of the car. The rock chips will have a very visible ON-Off pattern.

2. It will not be as reflective as the painted surface. So people will be able to tell from an angle.

3. The car will get old. Rock chips will not bother you as much later on.

I have the Venture bra kit installed. Would do it again wo looking back.

No rock chips in the first year. Based on previous experience, this bra will catch a multitude of the rock chips. From any distance at all, the bra is not visible, even at an angle. Rock chips always bothered me.

Mine goes in Saturday for a clear bra and window tint. Always had both and would not own a car without it.

I have stongard on my current car and would also do it again without hesitation. You can't even tell that its on there. And it really saves front end.

Be very careful as to who will do the installation. I had mine done by an "authorized installer" and the results is terrible! Going through dispute at the moment...

Thats why I didn't go to the dealer.
They suck. I've seen their work.

Also there is better film than the 3m one...

Get a prospective installer to show you some of his installs. Get phone numbers and look. My installer was able to show me his wife's car.

I was not into it when I purchased my E60 at the end of August. The lines are just too clean to have some film on it. However, by December and two stone chips I had ordered it from the dealer.

Unless you are looking for it, you really do not notice it - it grows on you after a while and when you are driving down the freeway and hear a stone or sand/dirt flying through the air, you really appreciate it.

The posts on finding someone who can do it right are absolutely correct. I lucked out. I had my tint person do it. He had never done it before but had wanted to get into it. He had researched it and did it right. It is a really tricky job and you need two people to do it in order to stretch the film. Afterwards, I have heard about some real horror stories.

Hi freed0m:

Sorry to hear about your adverse with the installer. When you said an "authorized installer" did you mean your BMW dealer as the: "authorized installer" or the (3m?) clear coat vendor?

Thanks in advance!
