It is a thin, clear film that goes on the front bumper and the lower part of the hood to help protect from road debris, rock knicks, even bugs impacting the car and damaging the paint. There are several pictures posted, but it really can be hard to see because it is exactly as described, clear. Only in the right light and at the right angle can you even see the line marking its edge. Check out the picture down in this link...

That picture is somewhat misleading.

In person, a clear bra is MUCH more noticable than in that picture... especially in bright sunlight.

Some colors are easier to tell than others.

That silver is among the best at hiding the bra.

Mine covers a lot. They removed the roundel when they did the hood, wrapped the film under the hood itself so the vulnerable leading edge is protected. It goes up the hood 12+ inches, covers the entire front face of the car, and extends around the sides to the wheel wells on the bottom, and past that on the upper part of the car. My headlights are covered as well, all of my door edges are done, wrapping the edges and extending 1cm onto the outer door, and last but not least are the mirrors. 3M film is the only one that has a clearcoating so you can treat it as paint. Try to find a vendor that offers a good warranty.

Can the clear bar be installed on a 545i with 4000 miles on it?

Yes but it is recommended to repaint your bumper first before you install the clear bra. Otherwise it is pointless to install a clear bra when there are already stone chips everywhere on the bumper and hood maybe.

Ok. i got the point. my car hasn't arrived yet but this is clear the first thing i will do. Attach a clear bra.
Where can i find those kind of things? And can i install it myself or it is better to let others do it for me? What's the best mark of clear bras?

Just my opinion, but have you ever seen people with the really bad tint job on their cars, with all the bubbles in the tint. Obviously did it themselves to save some money. I think you'll be better paying up a little and having a professional do it.
