Good idea! I personally changed the grills at high cost, your idea would have saved me a packet for the same effect.

Question - can you get black adhesive strips for 545i owners wanting go for the 530i look?

I wonder how the grille bars on the lower front spoiler might look treated this way?

Won't they fall off if you wash the car with high pressure hozes?

No, If

1) The material is high quality chrome metallic adhesive film (7-10 years adhesive life).
2) The surface before the application is pretty clean and dry (very important).
3) You warm up the grills, but no too hot, with a hair dryier (or when in the sun) and press well with your finger, to expand the adhesive of the sticker.
4) You don't wash the grilles close & insistent from the side with the pressure hose.

Be sure. It's my job and I know very well that materials.
