Dear E60 owners

Save about 550 euros (cost of the original chrome grills, fitted by the dealer)
No need to unscrew nothing on the car.
Dechrome it any time you want.
Change a strip only not the whole grill whenever a chip marks the chrome.
It's a bit difficult (it took to me 2 hours) but full of pleasure, application.

Get this pattern in coreldraw. All the sign stores are working with coreldraw.
You need 22 stripes. The pattern has 30 for further (spare) use.

I can't load the pattern to the forum

Stripe size = 155 X 2,12 millimetres. Cut 30 pieces at least.

Go to a sign making store and ask if they have high quality metallic chrome adhesive film (it exists on sheets or rolls).
You need high quality only material because the cheep one can be affected from the rain (it causes surface oxidation).
Give him the pattern on a cd or something, to cut it on the film.
It will cost to you about 10-15 Euros. If he ask more than this, go to another.

Clean the grills well from dust and insects.
Start to apply the stripes one by one. Start from up to down, press gently every straight step . You can unstick a little when it loses the straight way.
The most difficult part is to cut the up edge of the first grills (left and right of the center) but you'll do it carefully with the knife extended. The other ones only needs cutting to the down edge, which is very easy to do.
When you finish warm up the new chrome grills with a hair dryier and press again to stick the adhesive well. That's all.

Here is some pictures for your convenience.

Best Regards.

why not run over the outer rim with a sharpie, then just have the black out grill option?

BRILLIANT!!! . I did a complete replacement already, with OEM for the 545i. I will probably do this to my original black ones, just sitting in my garage. Thanks.
